This plant is a cork bark Japanese black pine grafted onto a standard Japanese black pine. Teh graft is super low to allow for the cork bark to express its self as fully as possible. The bark is excellent and lives up to its reputation.
I don't have the name of the variety.
This is a tree that will be developed by directional pruning to lower buds/stems for a simple design that accentuates the corky bark
I have done needle and bud thinning on these trees to facilitate photograpy.
