Attributes: Profuse, pendulous, white flowers in spring. The plant gets totally covered in flowers. Nice, dark grey bark with age, small foliage, fine twigs and short internodes. Yellow Autumn color.
Notes: Formosan Styrax is an excellent species for bonsai that has been underutilized. It boasts ample, small flowers, ramifies well and has small leaves.
I have given this batch of trees a cutback recently in order to expose their inner structures and prepare them for shipping, so they look pretty sparce. Rest assured that that they are highly vigorous and healthy. Foliage is pretty tired looking from late season duldrums. It will come out perfect next spring.
