Attributes:Broadleaf, deciduous, small tree that is fantastic in the landscape and for bonsai culture. It becomes packed with pink flowers. The bark on young parts is purple-brown turning dark gray-brown with age. This is a named cultivar, but I don't know what it is. I named it 'Martinez' for the city where the mother plant is.
Notes:This is a nice little specimen and will make a good single leader tree. It needs branch development and ramification work The roots are good, but I have planted the tree a bit low to continue their development. Give it shelter from overly hot and bright sun this coming summer. I find that it is better to baby them a little after harvesting from the field.
