Attributes: Broadleaf, deciduous, small tree that is fantastic in the landscape and for bonsai culture. Foliage lanceolate, highly corrugated and beautiful. It turns bright yellow in autumn.
Notes: Japanese hornbeam is my favorite all hornbeam species. The foliage is gorgeous, the twigs are fine and ramify well and the species vigorous, easy to grow and thickens quickly. This tree has natural movement, good roots and lots of branches to work with.
