Native Range: High elevation areas of Southeast Asia.
Soil: Consistently moist, not soggy. Neutral to low pH.
Light: Light shade to full shade.

Attributes:.Broadleaf, evergreen, flowering shrub. Leaves and flowers are petite. Flowers are about 1" or smaller in diameter, making for well scaled for bonsai and are single, and white. Bark is smooth and light gray with rough black patches.
Notes: One of my favorie species camellias to grow with its simple flowers and well proportioned parts. This tree is quite ascendant growing and will respond well to guying of branches or gentle wiring and bending. It sprouts readily on the trunk and is highly vigorous. It has a short, fat, rapidly tapering trunk.
