- Attributes: Q. douglasii is a small to medium sized tree depending on the environment. It has beautiful grey-blue foliage in summer and is winter deciduous. It sports light gray bark with small checks.
- Notes: This tree is an icon of the savannahs found in hot, dry interior valleys and foothills throughout California. It is extremely drought and heat tolerant. Give it moderate water in the first few years of establishing in it the garden. Plants in pots will need regular water in summer. It makes an excellent bonsai.
